Thank god for the old Updater. I had a very worry hour. lollipop happens so I'll not knock the Line 6 crew....been using the Helix Floor 5+ years and never had a single problem. I guess it was my turn. lol.Help with Helix Native software results???
Axewarrior replied to euler1970's topic in Helix Native
Hi Soundog They are very nearly the 'sounds in my head'. Damn. The problem now is....if I record with S-Gear plugins how will I emulate those sounds should I go live? CheersHelp with Helix Native software results???
Axewarrior replied to euler1970's topic in Helix Native
Just checked it out and im blown away. Was looking to download Native but now I have a dichotomy. It would appear that Scuffhamps package will give me the sound that im looking for in an instant. However, Native will team nicely with my Helix Floor. What are your thoughts Soundog? ThanksHelix Editor Problem

DunedinDragon Hey bro....you was absolutely right! I hadn't noticed that the installer had dropped a new Editor in the Line 6 folder. Schoolboy error or what. Now the fun begins AxewarriorHelix Editor Problem
Axewarrior replied to Axewarrior's topic in Helix
DunedinDragon It says 2.71. So i think I'm up-to-date. However, here's something to bear in mind. I bought my Helix late 2015. I then went traveling for 3 years and have just returned. I then set about updating and to do so I basically went through each new update one at a time. I was unsure if i could have updated straight to the latest patch thus is why I took this route. Could it be Ive missed an update? Even so, loading the latest should have caught it I would have thought. I wonder if its worth going factory reset and then straight into 2.71? Im totally miffed and I don't want to start loading IR's etc until I've got this sorted. Any help greatly appreciated. AxewarriorHelix Editor Problem

Hi All Im having a problem with the editor. Im all connected up to my Helix Floor, Macbook Pro with USB to the unit. When I load the editor on the mac I'm only seeing the Preset / IR page and not the Edit window. I can change the patches from Preset window no problem but for the life of me I cannot find a way to to open the actual Edit window. Im on the latest updates. Many thanks fellow Helixians. Axewarrior replied to fukuri's topic in Helix
Hi Fukuri I have exactly the same problem. Initially I was using Yosemite and Logic X and was experiencing the very same problem even if I tried to program a drum track. Im now on El Capitan and the same problem occurs. However, if I use my Motu Traveler interface instead of the Helix everything works as it always has with this AI so there is definitely a conflict between Helix and Logic to my mind. The answer in my case is to run out of the Helix into the Motu but this is a workaround and I didn't buy the Helix for it to be used in such a way. On the occasions (minutes) where the Helix runs properly I have to say that the guitar sound is simply amazing...probably akin to the best i've ever achieved! Come on Line 6...get this sorted....I know of 2 studio owners that have bought the Kempler for this reason, their reasoning being if this is wrong then there's probably more problems to follow.Helix USB interface with Cubase on Mac OSX El Capitan 10.11

Both Yosemite and El Capitan produce very undesirable digital sound (like ring modulation) on my Macbook Pro running Logic X.Helix suck at audio-playback?

Hey Davesheremata After reading about the USB problem I did a search and found an article about it...I have to say it was quite compelling. I'll look for it again and post the url here if and when i find it.Helix suck at audio-playback?
Axewarrior replied to tagmusenmagnus1's topic in Helix
Strangely I was having the same problem running OS X Yosemite. Im running Logic X on a Macbook Pro. Its killing me....i just want to get on with recording and using the Helix as the Audio Interface really would be the best way to go. Very disappointing. @Davesheremata....Do you know this to be fact Dave?USB connection causing NOISE with 4CM
Axewarrior replied to efunkelist's topic in Helix
Hi Efunkelist I'm experiencing the same problem and have just put a post up about it. Using the Helix as an Audio Interface gets me some great sounds into Logic X via my Macbook Pro running El Capitan. However for each playback the sound degrades with what appears to be a pile up of digital glitches until the audio is rendered useless. Unplug the Helix's audio and now plug my MOTU Audio Interface in and that very same recording is perfect. Swap back again and after a few repeated playbacks the sound deteriorates again. This doesn't appear to be ground hum. I think its far more serious sadly. On the weekend coming I will run it through a G5 running an old version of Logic Audio and will report my findings.Serious Glitchin When Used As Audio Interface
Axewarrior replied to Axewarrior's topic in Helix
Hi Radatats...thanks for your assistance. I only upgraded to El Capitan yesterday. I had exactly the same problem when I was running Yosemite. Tonight I tried running GarageBand (oh dear) to ensure it isn't a DAW problem and once again exactly the same thing. Unplug Helix and go back to my MOTU Traveller Interface and everything is fine. I'm beginning to think this might be a bigger problem than I had first thought.Serious Glitchin When Used As Audio Interface
Axewarrior posted a topic in Helix
Ok...is anyone having difficulty recording to a DAW. My setup is: Helix Logic X Macbook Pro running El Capitan (previously had Yosemite installed but upgraded to Capitan to try and cure the problem without success) Using the Helix as an audio interface and recording into Logic X works fine but as playback repeats the sound begins to suffer serious gapping. Keep it playing and it starts glitching uncontrollably and sounds almost like digital feedback. If the USB is disconnected from the Helix and I play the sound back through my MOTU interface the sound is pristine. To me this is a deal breaker for the Helix and i'm trying to ascertain if the problem is my setup before I ask Line 6 to take the unit back.Just canceled my order at MF
Axewarrior replied to lasvideo's topic in Helix
Never thought i'd go to the dark side but i've had my Helix for about 2 weeks now and can honestly say it owns me. I own about 9 different amps and whilst the Helix doesn't cover them all (yet) it more than makes up for those not covered by giving me a new array of amps I had yet to try. The interface is a thing of beauty and if like me you really don't want to spend your time learning another software editor then the Helix really is a game changer. So far I have only found one thing that is annoying me (most unusual for a brand new product) and I am addressing this with Line 6 direct and this only relates to using the Helix as a Audio Interface and thus doesn't interfere with the production of guitar sounds one bit. In fact the recorded tone of the sounds, once tweaked to ones own preference without a doubt rank as some of the best 'go to' sounds I've ever used. Go check one out before you criticise it....at least you can then adjudicate its worth for good or bad honestly. Get playing guys!
