Today no matter what online game I play (Trove, Planetside 2, League of Legends and Heroes of the Storm) I disconnect about every minute or less. My ping is always low though so I'm not sure why this is happening. Also my friend who was using my laptop hasn't had any issues. We were both playing League together. I would dc and he would be fine. I have the linksys router WRT54GS. I just started playing this online video game and I get disconnected every 20 min to a half hour. Can anyone help please. I know nothing of this at all so please bear with me. Someone told me it might have to something with the router ports but again I know.
I recently started playing a game called GunZ again. I used to play this a long time ago whilst I had a different Anti-virus, and had no issues what so ever.
Since I have started playing again I have been disconnecting from the game server after 30 seconds - 5 minutes.
I contacted the support team for the game and ask them. They told me that my anti-virus is probably the thing causing me to disconnect. So I disabled everything on the anti-virus and went onto the game. This worked perfectly, as I was able to play for hours without being disconnected once.
I have been disabling everything on the AV for the past week whilst I play the game. But today it randomly started disconnecting me even when I disable everything...
What is causing this? It can't be my connecting as I have an excellant connection. It can't be my computer since the game runs fine on it. Due to the fact it stoped when I was disabling everything, leads me to believe the AV is still causing me to d/c.
I have already added the game installation folder to exclude from scans, auto-protect and sonar detection. I have also got the .exe file as allow under 'Network Settings > Program control'.
What else can I do to try stop me from disconnecting?
After having reinstalled my PC, I was suddenly getting “disconnected from PvP.net” all the time in League of Legends.
It caused the game to be very unstable, and most of the time I’d just end up being logged out.
Luckily the solution is quite simple: Disable IPv6.
At the moment IPv6 is hardly used anywhere, so it’s perfectly safe to disable (and furthermore the likelihood of you needing it in your private LAN is even smaller)
Here is how to disable it:
- Open Controlpanel
- Find Network and Sharing Center
- Click Change adapter settings
- Right-click your network adapter and click Properties
- Find the element called Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck it.
When you’re done it should look like this:
UPDATE: You may also have to disable the “IP Helper” service, which is in charge of creating tunnels between IPv6 and IPv4 networks. Again like IPv6 itself this is hardly used anywhere, and is perfectly safe to disable.
Here’s how to disable this one:
Lol Game Keeps Disconnecting
- Press and hold the Windows key, then press R – this should open the “Run” dialog
- Enter “services.msc” and click the “OK” button
- You’re now looking at a list of all the services installed on your computer. Scroll down to “IP Helper”
- Right-click on “IP Helper” and left-click on “properties”
- Click the “Stop” button in this window
- Left-click in the “Startup” drop down which is set to “Automatic” by default. Here choose “Disabled”
- Click the “OK” button
- Close the list of services on the red cross in the upper right corner, and you’re done
