Posted February 13, 2016. Hey Kevin, we don't actually generally suggest the use of Pepakura for armor builds if you're trying to join the 501st. The armor often ends up being heavy, expensive, uncomfortable, and inaccurate. When I first got onto the FISD, I was planning on doing a pep build, and I was quickly warned away from it.

I made this account a while ago and was too busy working on things to update with any projects I did. I started making a Gears of War 3 armor with a friend of mine for the release and conventions to come in the future.

Heres all the work we have so far. Pepakura front and back, then a fiberglassed piece with rough clay, finished clay front and finished back. This is the silicone mold I have for the back And this is the mold for the chest plate This is what we have so far.

Currently we are waiting for expanding rigid foam to show up, so we can finish the armor casts. Thin plastic layer of polyurethane plastic with rigid foam backfilling. Let me know what you guys think.

Added some burns and more cuts and dents. I think Im done adding wear to the front. Theres not much to show on the back yet, but heres a side shot. Here are my boots so far! About 50% done before painting Back detail so far. Still need tweaks Im sorry for the bad quality, im using my webcam, but my brother just got a nice new camera, so when this is done Ill have some nice HD photos for you guys if the suit is worth it in the end. I only have a few photos from when I was at PAXEAST, Im planning on doing a few more photos when I fix a few issues I had with the armor. But enjoy for now! NOTE: The gun is the the Retro Lancer you could have preordered with the release of Gears of War 3 Also, I was going for a generic COG armor, but wanted to make a helmet. I couldnt in time for pax so i just got a pair goggles I had laying around and went as Baird.
