Shotcut is a free, open source, cross-platform video editor for Windows, Mac and Linux. Major features include support for a wide range of formats; no import required meaning native timeline editing; Blackmagic Design support for input and preview monitoring; and resolution support to 4k. Powtoon is the first company to offer a free animation studio. With Powtoon, you can easily create 2D animations in just a few hours. Choose your characters, props, and scene, drag and drop them into the Powtoon editor, and select the animation you want to apply. You have a free animated video for your website. Sign in to YouTube. Go to the video you want to edit. Select EDIT VIDEO under the video. In the “Description” box of the “Add details” page, add a list of timestamps and titles. To opt into video chapters, make sure that the first timestamp you list starts with 00:00. Your video should have at least three timestamps listed in ascending.

Microsoft Stream supports trimming Stream videos, including uploaded videos, live events, and Teams meeting recordings. The trimmed portions of the video are permanently removed.

Trim a video

  1. In Stream, find the video that you want to trim. You can trim any videos that you own.

  2. Click the More actions menu icon , and then click Trim video. This entry point is available in the video list view and on the video player page.

    For live events, you will be asked if you want to trim as you are completing the event. If you choose not to trim at the end of the event, you can always return to the video and trim it later.

  3. Set the trim points by dragging the trim handles.

    You can also snap the trim point to the playhead by clicking on the Set trim start point or Set trim stop point buttons.

    Tip

    For longer videos, you may find it helpful to zoom in for greater precision in setting your trim point.

  4. Click Apply. Your video will be trimmed and the unwanted content will be permanently removed. Trimming time varies based on the length and resolution of your video.

Note

Timecodes and forms in a Stream video are not automatically updated based on the trimmed time. Follow the steps to edit medadata or change the location of a form in a video to update these.
